3/7/2024 0 Comments Windows xp all sounds![]() This is usually an issue with the Microsoft Server products, as they do not enable audio by default, but I have heard of some situations where this can get accidently checked in Vista. On one of the tabs there is a checkbox option to disable the audio device, make sure that this has not been checked. Lemme see, you may also want to check Control Panel -> Sounds (going by memory here, it may be Audio). After this installer is finished, click OK to reboot. Now select Virtual Machine - Install VMware Tools" from the pulldown and follow instruction. It will then ask you to reboot, select "cancel" again. ![]() ![]() After the reboot, you will be prompted to search for new hardware device, select "cancel" (x2). Once this completes, it will ask you to reboot. If you have a previous version of tools installed, you may want to try uninstalling through add/remove programs. So be sure to run Virtual Machine -> Install Tools. Edit: forgot to mention that it doesnt work with the 'Windows Unlock. ![]() It is available for any devices running Windows NT 4.0, Windows 98, Windows 2000 and Windows Me that meet the new Windows XP system requirements. Windows XP received critical acclaim, noting increased performance and stability. Also confirming that it works on the latest 1709 build. Windows XP is the first consumer edition of Windows not based on the Windows 95 kernel and MS-DOS. I replaced them with Longhorn sounds as well and the startup/shutdown sound still works. Audio isn't my specialty, but I do know that you need to have tools installed in order to get audio to work under Vista. Actually this entire program is a workaround to Microsoft disabling startup/shutdown sounds. ![]()
